Sift 101
Five minutes here and you'll know Sift well enough to sell it with confidence.
What Sift actually is.
What it is
Cocktail-inspired Party Cake Mixes. Cake and frosting mixes customers bake at home. No alcohol, ever.
The positioning
Sift is a gift first. It bakes up like a real bakery cake, not a box-mix cake.
"It's a cocktail-inspired cake mix, no alcohol, and it bakes up like a real bakery cake."
The story.
Sift started as Sift Dessert Bar, a bakery founded by Andrea Ballus in California's wine country, Napa and Sonoma, that grew to five retail locations over 16 years. Along the way, Sift appeared on Food Network multiple times, including a win on Cupcake Wars, and landed on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
The shops closed in 2024, but the recipes and the reputation didn't go anywhere. Sift now brings that same bakery-level flavor to a packaged Party Cake Mix, made to give, bake, and share.
Three flavors. Zero alcohol. All party.

Quick answers.
"Is there alcohol in it?"
No. Cocktail-inspired flavor only, zero alcohol.
"How do I make it?"
Just add eggs, oil, and water. Full instructions are right on the pouch.
"What's it good for?"
Hostess gifts, birthdays, girls' nights, and any real reason to celebrate.
"How is this different from a regular cake mix?"
Sift is built from real bakery recipes and bakes up like an actual bakery-style cake, not a grocery-store box mix. It's also designed to be given, not just baked — the packaging is part of the gift.
"Can I taste it or see a sample?"
Let the customer know if a sample happens to be on hand, but don't promise one. Samples aren't a routine offer.
"Does it need to be refrigerated?"
No, the mix itself is shelf-stable. Only the baked and frosted cake needs refrigeration, if made ahead.
Three ways in.
Lead with the occasion, not the ingredients. "This would be a great hostess gift" lands better than "this is a cake mix."
If someone's unsure, the safest recommendation is Pink Champagne. It's the most broadly giftable, with the Cupcake Wars story behind it.
If a customer already knows Sift from the old bakery, let them get excited. That nostalgia is a real asset — just don't lead with it for someone brand new to the brand.
